AS COMPLICATED AS THEY COME...(2)

 

Okay let me give you one small expo into my life. Well, I am very much involved in the art and culture sector. You know how it is with this people now, you are only very active and in job when there are events or programmes to plan but once that is over you wait for the next one. Sometimes that period of waiting can be very long and other times quite short. On one of those waiting days, when I was brooding over my lack of money, a friend of mine sent me a broadcast message of an organization that was looking for a PA. With the requirements gaan; tall, fair, pretty, etc I didn’t even want to try it (na chic dem dey sell?) and PA for that matter but on a second thought the fact that it came with a car and a 6 digit salary, I thought otherwise.

So I applied and got called by the recruitment agency in charge who said they would get back to me so I thought to myself ‘no shaking’ (in 2baba’s voice). Anyway sha, they called me for the final interview in their office and after wowing them, we were down to two girls and they said they would get back to us and now gave us 10k for tp and aswear I was already praying I would be called. They called me later on that evening that I should come to the office very early the next day and when I got there, after waiting for what seemed like hours unattended, the legal adviser of the organization called me into his office and told me “unfortunately we cannot employ you as a PA in this office.” GBESE!!!
